Layers of Istanbul
The documentary “Layers of Istanbul,” prepared and narrated by Architect Olcay Aydemir and Art Historian Hayri Fehmi Yılmaz, and produced and presented by Historian Cem Akoğul, has been released to audiences on Netflix.
In Layers of Istanbul, viewers journey into the hidden strata of the ancient city that has hosted great civilizations for centuries. Through locations such as Zeyrek, Sultanahmet Square, Sultanahmet Arasta, Cankurtaran, and the Haliç–Vefa region, previously unseen traces of lost civilizations are brought to light.
The documentary invites audiences on a compelling journey through near and distant history, following the enduring footprints left behind by great empires and cultures.
